Melton Mowbray Invites Visitors to Step Back in Time for Grand Victorian Christmas Fayre
Dig out your top hats and bonnets as Melton Mowbray prepares to host the grandest Victorian Christmas Fayre, transforming the town centre into a magical, historical adventure from Friday, 28th to Sunday, 30th November 2025. This year, the focus is on creating a truly immersive experience, with the traditional Victorian Market at its heart and a special invitation for all visitors to join in the fun by dressing in period costume.
The three-day event will see the town centre, including Market Place, Leicester St, and High St, filled with the sights and sounds of a bygone era. A huge Christmas market with hand picked traders in full Victorian dress will offer unique gifts, crafts, and delicious festive food. The event is expanding to encourage public participation, aiming to fill the streets with families and individuals dressed in their finest Victorian attire to create a spectacular community atmosphere.
The festivities will be officially launched on Friday evening with the town's cherished Christmas light switch-on and music festival.
Adding to the authentic festive atmosphere will be a beautiful vintage fun fair and a magical Santa's Grotto on Nottingham Street, both of which will remain in town until 23rd December. A weekend of live music will provide a festive soundtrack, featuring a special performance from 90s pop group East 17 on Friday evening, <insert act> on Saturday eventing, and the acclaimed Adele tribute Natalie Black on Sunday afternoon.
